I was raised in Tucson, Arizona, and my husband is from Alamagordo, New Mexico, so we both appreciate the beauty of the southwestern desert where we live. One of our sons is a computer engineer who designs computer control systems; the other is an optical engineer who does research in optical systems. Our daughter and her husband are is raising two daughters. While our children were young, my husband and I, both engineers, chose to teach together so we could be with our children and each other as much as possible. Now that our children our grown, we still enjoy teaching, so our engineering is mostly applied to designing computer software and home projects.

We both enjoy music and played in rock bands for many years. Now a computer plays drums and bass for us, except for occasional jam sessions with friends. We have two pet horses, and lots of wild animals (rabbits, birds, bobcat, fox, coyote, racoon, javelina, deer, gila monster, snakes) that live near our desert home.
