Course Outline
Grading: Students are graded primarily on the degree to which
they meet learning outcomes, not how much time and effort is put forth in the
course. The grading for this class is
outcomes-based. Students meeting
standards for course outcomes will receive a grade of B. Students exceeding standards for course
outcomes will receive a grade of A.
Students not meeting standards for course outcomes will not receive a
passing grade.
Class Regulations: Students are expected to behave politely at all times including
extending the courtesy of arriving on time.
Attendance Expectations and Policy: Students
are expected to attend all class sessions.
In the event that an unavoidable absence occurs students are expected to
make-up all work missed.
Homework Expectations:
For every credit hour earned
for the course, the student will spend at least two hours outside of class
working on coursework.
Reasonable Disability
Accommodations:
Course Calendar/Schedule of Activities: All assignments
will be evaluated based on course outcomes.
They will be evaluated holistically as evidence of mastery of specific
course outcomes. If any assignment does
not demonstrate mastery it will be returned and the student will be given time
to bring it up to standards without penalty.
Students are strongly
encouraged to turn in work early enough that it can be evaluated by the
instructor, returned to the student, corrected by the student if necessary,
resubmitted to the instructor, and re-evaluated by the instructor before the
end of the semester. Assignments submitted
in the last days of class are unlikely to be graded in time to be reflected on
the grade report.
Note to Students: The
instructor reserves the right to change the delivery of course content based on
the needs of the class.
